Suppose you have lease-packet.pdf at 3.8 MiB and your mail host complains about large attachments. Drop the file on the home tool, run structural rewrite, and read the after size. If it lands at 3.5 MiB, open the download, skim page count and a few pages, then attach that file if it still meets your rights and review rules. What stays local

The File API reads the file you chose. pdf-lib copies pages and saves with object streams in the tab. The download is a blob: URL from URL.createObjectURL. Closing the tab drops the in-memory copy. Hosting can still see ordinary page-request logs; those are not your document. Details: privacy.

ZIP wraps the same PDF bytes for transport. Structural rewrite changes packing inside the PDF. Recipients usually want a single .pdf attachment, not a ZIP of a PDF.
